The level 2 of the Chartered Accountancy programme in India is the CA Intermediate exam. In the nine months given period for study, a student is expected to finish eight subjects and more than 7000 pages of readings. The group structure, which consists of four subjects in each group and requires passing all four tests in order to pass the group, is what makes this exam even more challenging. The student would fail in the subjects in which he has passed because failing one topic would result in the group failing as a whole right away.
Â
Students after clearing the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) or CA Foundation Course become eligible to register for the CA Intermediate. Alternatively, graduates, postgraduates or students having equivalent degrees can directly register for the CA Intermediate exam without appearing for the entry level exams.
Â
It is a complete subjective paper pattern for 4 papers and combined subjective & objective (70:30) for rest 4 subject. Eight subjects and two groups consisting 800 marks. Subjects are given as follows:
MODULE 1
- Accounting
- Corporate and other Laws
- Cost and Management Accounting
- Taxation
Â
MODULE 2
- Advance Accounting
- Auditing and Assurance
- Enterprise Information System and Strategic Management
- Financial Management & Economics for Finance
Â
Students are required to obtain 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in aggregate of all the subjects. A student can appear in either one group or both the groups at a time.
Â
When discussing the fact that students have 1.5 months to prepare for the CA intermediate exam, Students should keep the following points in mind as they respond to this: Aspirants first create a processing timetable that includes the majority of the study time while thinking about preparing for the exam in just 1.5 months, or almost 45 days.
- Following careful consideration of the course and the complete Intermediate level course, this is separated into different levels.
Â
- Keeping tabs on the most popular and widely requested study materials. You have the option of studying from any author or the materials that your coach provides. However, it's essential that you also read the material provided by the ICAI, which needs to serve as your main source of information.
Â
- By reading the material at least once, ideally with the assistance of a coaching provider, make sure you have a thorough understanding of what each subject includes. It is advised that you participate in multiple choice questions and review sessions. Make sure to study thoroughly before taking part in them because they will help you cover 40–50% of the material and give you a head start on the Self Study Leave time.
Â
- Prior to the CA Inter examination, it is advised that you devote a minimum of 1.5 months to each module of self-study in order to give yourself enough time to completely learn each topic and complete several revisions.
Â
- Don't worry if you believe you might not be able to adequately cover the topics in both groups. Focus on one group at a time. Put all of your concentration into one group and the four subjects that make up that group. If you're happy with your preparation, you can subsequently choose to cover the topics in the other group.
Â
- Divide your entire material into categories of subjects (Practical and Theory). Make sure you allot adequate time for a thorough initial research. To promote effective study and avoid boredom, it is advised that you take at least two subjects a day, ideally a mix of practical and theoretical material. Your daily time commitment during your self-study leave should steadily rise. To get started, it may be reasonable to schedule fewer, more frequent breaks and shorter study sessions. Starting with 7-8 hours per day, we advise gradually increasing it to 10-12 hours at your peak.
Â
- The key to passing Inter CA is revisions, and the most effective way to revise is to use diluted versions of your notes. Keep track of significant and challenging problems with the concepts and formula shortcuts for practical subjects. Cross-reference your notes' section and page numbers for theory subjects. To assist you remember the section numbers on the exam paper, tape a comprehensive list of section numbers to a wall and read it once a day.
